WorldForge Debian Packages

Status

Currently I do packages for Debian Woody/i386 and Debian unstable/i386. The Woody packages are always a backport of the unstable packages. To install the packages from the Worldforge Debian repository you need to add one of the following lines to /etc/apt/sources.list:

For Debian Woody/stable users:

deb ftp://ftp.worldforge.org/debian stable main contrib non-free

For Debian Sid/unstable users:

deb ftp://ftp.worldforge.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free

People using Debian Sarge/testing as their distribution may use one of the lines above, preferable the unstable packages because Debian Sarge/testing is more like Debian Sid than like Debian Woody. This also means that sometimes are some updates from Debian Sid/unstable are needed (packages which are not yet moved from unstable to testing.)

Packages currently available:

Packages being developed:

I try to upload all WorldForge Debian packages to Debian Sid this way they slowly get introduced into Debian Sarge/testing. This means they will be considered for inclusion in the next Debian stable distribution.

Because of some problems, not all packages have been uploaded to Debian Sid.

Packages that have been uploaded:

Atlas-C++
skstream
varconf

Where Help is Needed

To help with Debian packages you may do testing, testing, and finally testing. All bugs found, anomolies or requests should be sent to Michael Koch.

Future Plans

The plan for the future is the get more WorldForge software ready for packaging. Secondly, a great goal is to introduce more packages into Debian Sid and Debian Sarge.
