  2. Source file format
  3. Build processes
  4. Moraf review

  1. Elves

Alien has taken an interest in the Elves, and offered to take "general responsibility" for their documents. We look forward to helping him and seeing some things in this area soon.

  2. Source file format

Continuing from last week, we looked at the source file format. zzorn and Bryce will be working on an example of a eidetic page. Lee expressed some concern over how to add those pages to the Duralsaur, and several options were presented. It was noted that there were advantages and disadvantages of each way (eidetic and cvs) which should be looked at in coming weeks.

  3. Build processes

It was noted that eidetic pages are outside the website build system. Bryce gave a good overview of how the website was generated from the CVS.

    • it travels through the CVS tree looking for directories called doc, docs and text/public
    • in those directories, it looks at the file extensions to figure out how to make it into an html file. If the extension is .tmpl then it's run through template toolkit, otherwise it's runs a converter script called ext2hts, where ext is the file extension, and then that output is passed through template toolkit.
  4. Moraf review

There haven't been much review this week, not was there much at the meeting. Could everyone please look at http://victor.worldforge.org/~lee/worlds/moraf.html and review it please. Coloured text comes from only one of the two documents that have been combined to create that one. Please suggest which bits should be included and excluded, any changes or additions to it. It would be nice to wrap this up this week so we can move onto the next one.

Next Meeting: 2100 GMT, #worlds, 17 May 2002.
