2004 Diary

Today was the last day of LinuxTag 2004, and as it was week-end, it was really busy. I'm glad we had Andor around today, as he speaks a pretty decent German and was able to answer a lot of questions.
I would like to extend thanks to the Blender Project, for letting us have a Blender Guide book.

Today was pretty much the same as yesterday, so I'll only mention some of the highlights. I had an interesting conversation with a girl working for Linux New Media, Elisabeth Bauer, who proposed some sort of wiki-like system to allow people to create world content. We'll need to discuss that.
Also, Andor finally managed to show up, so we could finally talk about some urget design issues with the game. We also decided to go to the social event today, which was kind of fun, but not really useful.

Having been at the anti-software patents demo, we now know that software patents are the new axis of evil™.
On the expo side, today wasn't as quiet as I expected, but there were less stupid questions asked today. I hope things will stay like that tomorrow.

Whew, looks like a non-busy day was wishful thinking. Al is currently getting the cyphesis mind interface cleaned up, so I can add some more rule scripts to the server. Also, I think we really need to get more than model viewing to work in EntityForge.
Tonight, we will participate on a demo against software patents in the EU.

The network at the place we're sleeping was down yesterday night, so I couldn't update the diary. Oh well. We're hoping for a day that's more quiet today, as this is supposed to be the business expo day. This should be just what we need to get some more features implemented.

Whew, it's so full that I barely manage to type in some diary entries. Al went and got us some glass bowls to put the sweets in, so we can lure even more people to our booth. Thinking of that, I'm not sure if it's that good an idea. :)

Expo opening today, with a big bunch of people dropping by at our booth. I realized Simon has a really good way to get people to take a flyer, and I've been trying to catch up the whole day. I've been talking and talking all day and my mouth feels a bit fuzzy, but I think we got a couple of people interested in our technology, so I guess it was worth it. Al accused me of OpenSource procastrination, so I decided to add more gameplay stuff to mason. Let's see how that works out.

It's booth setup time today, and I just realized that computers were heavy. This time, our presentation is much more professional, with four really nice posters, that's a 300% increase, nametags for all of the people and the WF shirt.
We'll have four boxes running sear, and my computer running cyphesis. James did some pictures, I guess we'll upload them tomorrow.
